I obtained my PhD from the European University Institute (Florence, Italy) and I worked previously at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland) between 2013 and 2015.
In the past I have been visiting scholar at the Higher School of Economics of Moscow (2018), the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (2017), the Central European University of Budapest (2016), the University of Rome-La Sapienza (2015), the New York University (2011) and the University of California, San Diego (2007-2009).
My work focuses on different aspects of comparative political institutions and elections.
I have published articles in journals such as Comparative Political Studies, European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics, Political Behavior, Party Politics, Parliamentary Affairs, Publius: The Journal of Federalism, Public Choice, International Political Science Review and South European Society and Politics, among others.
